Duty of Care Implementation Strategy
The Department’s Strategy for the implementation of recommendations from Gwenn Murray’s report A duty of care to children and young people in Western Australia, 2005 has been developed by a committee comprised of representatives of non government agencies which care for children, the CREATE Foundation, the Foster Care Association and the Department. The Committee was chaired by Ms Jane Brazier, then Director General of the former Department for Community Development.
The Strategy aims to achieve improved outcomes for children and young people in care, for their carers, and for the Department’s staff and the non government organisations who work in this area.
This webpage has been developed to provide information about the Committee’s work and its progress in implementing all 43 recommendations of Ms Murray’s report.
The Committee is indebted to Ms Murray for her ongoing expert advice and support throughout the development of this Strategy.
