A five year 'Whole of Government-Whole of Community' plan which aims to reduce and ultimately prevent the incidence of family and domestic violence in Western Australia. It does this through identifying priorities through ten focus areas for action with a range of strategies within each. This strategic framework will guide government departments in future planning and implementation of policies and programs aimed at the safety of victims and education of the community. |

The Western Australian Family and Domestic Violence State Strategic Plan 2004-2008 was launched in April 2004 and the Action Plan in September 2004. |
| Operating Period: |
The State Strategic Plan is a response over five years. Each year an annual action plan is developed which provides current actions in response to the strategies and ten focus areas. The current action plan is the Family and Domestic Violence Action Plan 2004-2005. |
| Expected Outcomes: |
That the rates of family and domestic violence in Western Australia will be reduced through the coordination of government and community initiatives and strategies within the ten focus areas. |
| Potential to Develop: |
Annual action plans will be developed each year. Over the life of the strategic plan, non-government and community-based organisations will be included in a coordinated response. In 2004-2005, Regional Domestic Violence Committees will report on local strategies and initiatives alongside government. |
