Kalgoorlie Boulder Volunteer Resource Centre
The Kalgoorlie Boulder Volunteer Centre will hold a Goldfields Volunteer of the Year award presentation involving 20 community groups in the region. A red Vista of V's will be displayed at the awards venue and will be used in the annual St Barbara's Parade.
Esperance Volunteer Resource Centre
The Esperance Volunteer Resource Centre plan to have an evening cruise for up to 140 volunteers within the Esperance region. The Centre proposes to line the pathway and jetty with displays of red V’s.
Albany & Regional Volunteer Service
A '’Wine & Cheese' night will be held at the Albany Museum, and the volunteers (estimated to be in the vicinity of 60-80 people) within the region will be entertained and presented with Certificates of Appreciation by the local Member of Parliament and the Mayor of Albany. A Vista of V's will be displayed at the ‘Off the Wall’ gallery for one week, and a shop front in the centre of the shopping precinct will also be decorated.
Wickepin District Resource & Telecentre
The Wickepin District Resource & Telecentre will organise a ‘bush theme’ afternoon tea at the Telecentre and this will be followed by a sundowner at the Albert Facey Homestead to thank the volunteers within the Wickepin community. Entertainment and activities are planned during the afternoon. A Vista of V's will be displayed outside Albert Facey Homestead, located in Wickepin’s main street, for the community to view.
Centacare Family Services
The Centacare Family Services will invite approximately 200 volunteers and representatives from community organisations to a morning tea. The event will be jointly hosted by the Centacare Volunteer Service and the City of Geraldton/Greenough. There will be interesting guest speakers, and presentations will be made to volunteers in acknowledgement of their contribution to the community. Community groups will be given Vs and invited to name the volunteers they wish to acknowledge to be displayed on the lawns of the Civic Centre, on the day of the morning tea.
Arts & Cultural Development Council of Geraldton Inc.
Approximately 30 volunteers from the Police & Citizens Youth Club in Geraldton, the Midwest Aboriginal Media Association and Geraldton Art Galleries will be invited to a ‘Thank You’ event to be held at the Art Gallery (Geraldton).
City of Geraldton/Greenough
A barbecue will be held for over 500 volunteers from various sporting clubs within the Geraldton/Greenough region. Certificates will be presented to the volunteers by the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Geraldton/Greenough, or a Council delegate.
Pinjarra Primary School P & C Association
The Pinjarra Primary School P&C Association will provide a luncheon to recognise the volunteer groups involved at the Pinjarra Primary School. This will involve approximately 100 attendees from the P&C Association - volunteers, parents and caregiver volunteers, Breakfast Club volunteers, Schools Volunteer Program and all past volunteers.
Peel Bowling and Social Club Inc.
The Peel Bowling and Social Club Inc. will hold a Christmas luncheon for their members and other key stakeholders. A Vista of V's project will be displayed on the main lawn of the Bowling and Social Club.
Shire of Boddington
The Shire of Boddington will hold a reception in the Council Chambers for volunteers in the Boddington Shire. Meals and drinks will be provided for the various volunteer groups on 5 December, between 6pm and 8pm
Peel Volunteer Resource Centre
A “2007 Thank A Volunteer Day Breakfast” will be provided for local volunteers at the Peel Volunteer Resource Centre. An inaugural “Volunteer of the Year” Award will be presented by the Mayor, City of Mandurah at the breakfast.
Christian City Church Fremantle Inc.
The Christian City Church in Fremantle will organise a barbeque for approximately 120 volunteers from 10 different volunteer groups. A Vista of V's will be displayed to the community for the week.
Bayswater Family Centre and Drill Hall Inc.
The Bayswater Family Centre will provide a “Thank You” dinner for approximately 30 management committee volunteers as well as the Centre’s ‘day-to-day' volunteers.
Fremantle Multicultural Centre Inc.
The Fremantle Multicultural Centre will provide a morning tea for approximately 25 volunteers who donate their time to the centre. There will be a photographic display of the volunteers at work, and a presentation of certificates to the volunteers.
People Who Care Inc.
A “Morning Tea” will be held for approximately 300 volunteers from the People Who Care, with presentations and awards.
Breast Cancer Foundation of WA (Inc.)
The Breast Cancer Foundation of WA will provide light refreshments for approximately 50 volunteers. The volunteers will be acknowledged and recognised for their participation and efforts, on behalf of the Breast Cancer Foundation.
City of Rockingham City Safe Team
Individual V's will decorate the branches of a large Christmas tree erected in the main City of Rockingham Council foyer dedicated to approximately 400 local volunteers in the region. The media will be invited to promote Thank A Volunteer Day, cover the display and to feature individual stories from the volunteers themselves.
Centrecare Inc. T/A Catholic Migrant Centre
Centrecare will organise a multicultural luncheon for approximately 80 volunteers from four different programs that assist the CaLD community. The luncheon will include presentations of Certificates of Appreciation for all attending volunteers.
Carers WA
Carers WA will hold a sausage sizzle in Hyde Park, North Perth for approximately 30 volunteers involved with the Carers Programs.
Kalamunda Community Care (Inc.)
The Kalamunda Community Care will provide an “Earth Angels Christmas Party” for approximately 70 volunteers. The event is a thank you dinner that will incorporate entertainment, small gifts for the volunteers and a presentation of certificates.
Town of Kwinana
The Town of Kwinana will hold a morning tea at Smirk Cottage for approx 60 volunteer groups from all sectors. The event will include a treasure hunt with prizes donated by local organisations. All local volunteers will be invited to attend.
City of Wanneroo (Volunteer Hub)
The City of Wanneroo (Volunteer Hub) will host a garden party/luncheon at the Yanchep Community Centre, with entertainment for various volunteer groups across the region. A Vista of V’s will be displayed around the community centre.
City of Melville
The City of Melville will host a morning tea at the Melville Civic Centre to celebrate the contribution made by various volunteers from local community groups. It is expected that 50 volunteers will be acknowledged. The volunteers will be welcomed by the Mayor of Melville who will acknowledge the volunteers and present certificates of participation and appreciation.
Hotham Valley Tourist Railway (WA) Inc.
The Hotham Valley Tourist Railway Inc. will have a window display of a Vista of V’s from 1-8 December 2007, depicting volunteers at work and acknowledging their contribution to the community.
FESA & St John’s Ambulance
The Fire and Emergency Services Authority & St John Ambulance will hold a celebration to recognise all available service volunteers in the Karratha area including SES, Fire Services, Bushfire Volunteers, Marine Rescue and St Johns Ambulance. Certificates of Recognition will be presented at the event.

The function will include a Red Vista photo. Certificates of Recognition will be presented at the event.
Wickham Events Inc.
Volunteers from Wickham and Point Samson communities will be invited to a 'Thank You Celebration' at the Wickham Shopping Centre. Refreshments will be provided and certificates will be presented to volunteers. A visual presentation paying tribute to volunteers will also be shown. A 'Vista of V's' with nominated volunteer’s names will be displayed in the shops for a whole week.
Shire of Ashburton
The Shire of Ashburton will hold a ‘Thank-A-Volunteer’ ceremony at the Tom Price swimming pool where community and sporting group volunteers will be presented with a certificate and a gift. The ceremony will include hospitality (food and drinks).
Volunteer South West (Inc.) (Bunbury
Approximately 80 volunteers from across 100 organisations have been invited to attend a free movie and coffee day in Bunbury, to recognise and thank them for their efforts. A Vista of V's will be displayed in the cinema foyer with large red balloons and posters
Volunteer South West (Inc.) (Collie)
The Volunteer South West Collie branch will celebrate Thank A Volunteer Day with a morning tea. Approximately 40 volunteers will be acknowledged with certificates of appreciation. Promotional displays, posters, banners and balloons including a vista of Red
Shire of Wyalkatchem
The Shire of Wyalkatchem plan to hold a morning tea for all the volunteers in the town on 16 February 2008. A representative from each community group will be invited to speak about their organisation, and each volunteer will receive a small gift. The date of the event was endorsed by the Assessment Committee due to the harvest period commitments in rural communities.
Nannup Volunteer Resource Centre
All community groups and volunteers in Nannup will be invited to a barbeque luncheon. Nannup Lions will coordinate the barbecue and the centrepiece will be a large cake with a red letter V. Various Vista of V's will be displayed during the day including a large promotional banner, 250 A3 sized "V’s' planted around the venue and 250 red helium balloons.
Cunderdin & Districts Telecentre
The Cunderdin & Districts Telecentre will provide a sausage sizzle on 19 December 2007 to thank volunteers within their community. This event will be combined with the Community Carols in the Park and over 200 attendees are expected. The date of the event was endorsed by the Assessment Committee due to the harvest period commitments in rural communities.
Pingelly Telecentre & Resource Facility Inc.
The Pingelly Telecentre & Resource Facility has invited all local community volunteers to an afternoon event at the local town hall. Food and refreshments will be provided and the Shire President will present certificates to volunteer organisations. A Vista of V's display will be formed around the park rotunda which will include a display of photographs of local volunteers at work in their community.
Shire of Donnybrook/Balingup
The Shire of Donnybrook/Balingup will provide a 'Three Cheers for Volunteers' sundowner and movie screening at the Donnybrook Amphitheatre, for the volunteers within the community. Food and drinks will be supplied at the event and the Shire President will make a speech thanking the volunteers for their contributions. The event will be held in March 2008.
Koorda Telecentre (Inc.)
The Koorda Telecentre will hold an “Australia Day Thank A Volunteer Breakfast” for approximately 60-70 volunteers within the community. Presentations will also be made to nominated volunteers to recognise their efforts within the organisations. The event will be held on 26 January 2008. The date of the event was endorsed by the Assessment Committee due to the harvest period commitments in rural communities.
Shire of Kondinin
The Shire of Kondinin will hold a dinner at the Karlgarin Country Club to thank all the volunteers who helped clean the townsite for the 'Tidy Towns' competition. It is estimated that approximately 50 volunteers from various community groups will attend. The event will be held on 7 December 2007.
Pingaring Progress Association
The Pingaring Progress Association will hold a family barbeque for all community members and volunteers from all clubs and associations within the region. Special acknowledgements of the volunteers & volunteer groups will be made on the night.
Shire of Dowerin
The Shire of Dowerin will provide a sausage sizzle for volunteers from sporting clubs and service groups within the Dowerin community. The event will include refreshments, and the presentation of the Volunteer of the Year certificate. A garden of red 'V's will identify all the groups.
Shire of Merredin
The Shire of Merredin will host a 'Thank A Volunteer Day' in conjunction with the annual 'Welcome to Merredin' event. The community groups will be recognised and acknowledged for their volunteering efforts through official speeches and presentation of certificates by the Shire President. The event will be held on 27 February 2008.
Shire of Waroona
The Shire of Waroona, along with the Waroona Lions club, would like to provide a ‘Breakfast in the Park' for approximately 100 volunteers from community and sporting groups within the shire. The event is to be held on 8 December 2007.
City of South Perth
The City of South Perth plan to hold a Thank A Volunteer Day breakfast in recognition of their volunteers which will be hosted by the Mayor of South Perth. The event will include entertainment and an Award presentation for approximately 250 guests. The proposed event date is 2 December 2007.
Town of Bassendean
The Town of Bassendean plan to hold a ‘Volunteer Celebration - Bring a buddy’ (someone who is not a volunteer) to introduce them to volunteering. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided for two hours for an estimated 250 guests from the local community. A Vista of 'V's will be displayed from 5th December onwards. The proposed event date is 7 December 2007.
Perth Basketball Association Inc.
A proposed sausage sizzle and "pickup/street" basketball event will be held at the Leisurelife Recreation Centre to thank the volunteers involved in running the Perth Basketball Association competitions. Volunteers from the WA Basketball League and the State Basketball League will also be invited. The proposed event date is 16 December 2007.
Joondalup Volunteer Resource Centre
The Joondalup Volunteer Resource Centre proposes to hold a sausage sizzle at Whitfords City Shopping Centre and, if that does not eventuate, then a morning tea will be held at the Joondalup Volunteer Resource Centre. The proposed event date is 7 December 2007.
Town of Claremont
A “Thank You” function by way of a Concert band performance will be held at the Claremont Museum for volunteers from the Town of Claremont. Light refreshments will be served, and the Mayor of Claremont will be present for the event.
Equestrian Federation of Australia (WA)
The Equestrian Federation of Australia plan to hold a fair for volunteers from all surrounding community organisations. This will include riding demonstrations, a fire brigade display, birds of prey displays and also other attractions including a lunch for volunteers. The proposed event date is 9 December 2007.
Walpole Community Resource Telecentre (Inc.)
The Walpole Community Resource Telecentre plan to hold an “Australia Day Breakfast” for an estimated 200 volunteers. The proposed event date is 26 January 2008.
Kulin Resource Centre
The Kulin Resource Centre plan to hold a barbecue dinner for the district volunteers. Local shire councillors will cook for the volunteers who will be welcomed by the Shire President or Shire CEO. The proposed event date is 14 December 2007.
Volunteer Resource Centre Manjimup Inc
The Volunteer Resource Centre in Manjimup will hold a Thank A Volunteer Day sausage sizzle. The event will include a presentation of certificates to all the volunteers in Manjimup and surrounding regions. Hon. Paul Omodei will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event. A Vista of Vs will be on display at the front of the Volunteer Centre.
