Children's Week - 23 October-1 November 2009
The Department for Communities is proud to support and promote Children's Week - a week that is internationally recognised.
Many events occur throughout Western Australia to promote the rights of children and celebrate their achievements. The week of celebration also includes Universal Children's Day on 28 October. In Western Australia, Meerilinga Young Children's Foundation is the Children's Week convenor.
The official Western Australian launch and opening Family FunSafe Day event for Children's Week 2009 will be held at Whiteman Park on Sunday 25th October, 10am to 2pm.
There will be lots of free activities and entertainment on offer for children and young people such as face painting, trampolines, African drums, farm yard animals, bubble blowing, golf, arts and crafts. Demonstrations from gymnastics, martial arts as well as displays. Entertainers Fairy Queen Caroline & Beehive the Bear, Drippy Dragon and Mr Jim and the Kangaroo Creek Gang will be there too!
