The Child Protection Reform follows the Ford Review [PDF, 1mb], (Recommendations [PDF, 58kb]).  It also incorporates recommendations of the Child Death Review Committee [PDF, 335 kb] and recent reviews of accommodation services.

It is supported by a Role Clarity Paper following the Department's establishment in 2007.
