Student Clothing and Equipment

Why do students need special clothing?

Students need the right sorts of clothing and personal items to live comfortably in their new home in Perth.

The climate in Perth can be different from their own communities. Winter can be very cold, windy and wet, and students need clothing to stay warm and comfortable.

Students may wish to buy clothes and other items when they first come to Perth, so parents and caregivers need to make sure students have enough money (see Point 9 on the Information for Caregivers page).

You can send money for your child to the Department - we will make sure the money is spent on appropriate items.

You need to make sure all your child's clothing and property is marked with their name.
