The Community Transitional Accommodation and Support Services (TASS) program provides transitional accommodation and support to a limited number of clients with identified high needs and a high risk of returning to custody due to a lack of suitable accommodation.
The aim of the program is to help clients transition into stable accommodation after the six month accommodation and transition period and to establish appropriate links to assist with their on-going success in the community.
Accommodation is provided by the Department of Housing and Works (DHW) which undertakes property and tenancy management and maintenance of the housing allocated. Service provision includes a combination of in-home practical assistance and community based services to clients and their families to increase their level of self-reliance.
