Community Housing

Regional Housing Associations (RHAs) are community managed, not for profit organisations, which have as their primary focus, the provision of professionally managed rental housing. They grow out of the need to respond to identified local housing needs.

They offer a range of housing forms within a defined region, to people on low to moderate incomes. RHAs offer a responsive service to the needs of their tenants and provide opportunities for tenant involvement in the management of the organisation. Finally, RHAs aim to develop a property portfolio of a scale which will allow them financial self sufficiency.

Funds for Regional Housing Associations are provided jointly by the Australian and Western Australian Governments through the Commonwealth/State Housing Agreement.
