Support and Outreach Services for Homeless People or Those at Risk of Homelessness

The Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP) is a joint Commonwealth/State program, administered in Western Australia by the Department for Community Development.  The program assists homeless people and women and children escaping domestic violence. 

SAAP provides recurrent funding to not-for profit agencies for salaries and other operational costs associated with the provision of crisis and transitional supported accommodation and related support services which do not include an accommodation component.

Support to Children in SAAP
Two support and counselling services were funded through the State Homelessness Strategy to work with children living in supported accommodation for families.  As they do not provide accommodation themselves they are included in this section.
