SAAP helps women experiencing or escaping domestic violence.
SAAP Services work with women to help them overcome their immediate crisis and maintain their safety.
For some women this may mean leaving the abusive relationship and starting out again on their own.
For others refuges and safe houses offer short term accommodation before returning to their homes.
Many women take their children with them when they go to refuges and safe houses. These services try to find the best way to help these children.
If the services cannot provide assistance themselves, they may refer these children to counselling and other services which can help them.
This is always done in consultation with the mother or carer.
The two main types of SAAP services are:

The WRG specifically seeks to ensure that all women and children live free of domestic violence and family violence and its consequences.
