The protection of children and young people is being strengthened through:

• improving partnerships, information sharing and training between key government agencies, non-government service providers and communities.
• consolidating the community’s understanding of abuse and neglect issues
• extending the protocols for the sharing of information and reporting of abuse, neglect and concerns for children and young people.

The participation of children and young people in matters that affect them will be strengthened. Their views will be sought and used to inform policy and to improve responses to them.
