DCP Foster Care Programs

The Department for Child Protection has statutory responsibility to contribute to the protection and care of those children and young people who are unable to be cared for by their families.

The Department is the major agency coordinating foster care in Western Australia. The Department acts as a central coordination point for all children and young people who need to be placed with foster carers.

The Department has been providing foster care to children and young people in Western Australia since 1882.

The Department also provides funding and resources to other organisations for a variety of foster care and family support services. Listed below are our foster care programs.
