Complaints about service providers
 
The new Children and Community Services Act 2004 requires the Department to establish procedures for dealing with complaints about services provided to the public by contracted Non Government Organisations (NGO's).
 
The Department has included as a condition of its contracts with NGO's the requirement for NGO's to establish and implement a client complaints process.  All complaints should be referred to the NGO in the first instance.  Unresolved complaints referred to or received directly by the Department will be assessed and if appropriate investigated Complaints and Procedures Complaints and Procedures (PFD,69kb).
