The State Government has contracted Carers WA to operate the Carers Counselling Line and the Carers Health Awareness and Retreats Program.
The Carers Counselling Line was set up in August 2003 for all carers regardless of the age or diagnosis of the person to whom they provide care. The 1800 007 332 telephone service is managed by professionally qualified counsellors offering counselling, practical assistance, referral and emotional support. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Carers Health Awareness and Retreats Program is divided into four divisions - Linking Together Volunteer Support Program, Health Awareness, Short Break Funding for Carer Groups and Carers WA Short Breaks (Retreats).
Contact Carers WA for more information and how to become involved in these activities.
