Western Australia's Seniors - Active Ageing Benchmark Indicators is the set of community indicators developed to report on the status of active ageing among Western Australia's seniors. They were developed in consultation with the World Health Organization, COTA(WA) and several state government departments.
The benchmark indicators cover the priority areas of action highlighted in Generations Together: Western Australia's Active Ageing Strategy: health and wellbeing; community attitudes; community and social participation; employment and learning; accessiblity; and protection and security. |
The indicators will be used every three years to measure WA's progress towards achieving active ageing and realising the vision of Generations Together. They will enable us to measure whether or not our seniors are measurably healthier, more physically active, valued, active and included participants. The indicators will highlight areas that need improvement to achieve this important aim.
