Police Checks for Volunteers

National Police Check for Volunteers Project

The Department for Communities, together with the Western Australian Police, has developed a program enabling eligible Western Australian volunteers and volunteering organisations to receive a National Police Check at a reduced fee of $11.00 per person checked. The program has recently been extended to include any organisation involving volunteers, including state government and private sector organisations.

How to Register

NOTE: Only organisations, not individual volunteers, are able to register for the program.

STEP 1: Organisations wishing to register for the program need to download an Information Package and complete the Registration Form. The Information Package contains all you need to join the program.

Pending Charges on National Police Check for Volunteers
As of 1 April 2007 the existence of pending charges still to come before the courts was added to the information included in the National Police Check for Volunteers, bringing the program into line with criminal release practices in other states and territories. Click here for further information.
