"Shared Vision" - Volunteer Training

In 2004, 17 organisations were awarded a Share Vision Training Grant to develop and deliver innovative training programs illustrating the use of partnerships, resource sharing, technology and collaboration. State wide grant recipients represented the diversity of the volunteering sector in areas including indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse groups, disability, health, emergency services, youth, environment, and advocacy and legal support.

Training programs were developed in a range of areas such as peer support, para-legal skills, corporate governance for indigenous management committees, trauma support, palliative care, disability care, high needs parenting support, youth mentoring and a general volunteer skills program.

Funding granted was based on the number of recipients which formed partnerships to deliver programs, the volunteers to be trained, and the extent and complexity of the proposed training program.

Three training presentations made during National Volunteer Week in 2004 are available on video at no cost. To request a copy of the video please contact the Volunteering Secretariat on (08) 6217 8500 or email us.
