Nearly 300 volunteers and volunteer managers attended a special morning tea and celebration at King's Park on Thank a Volunteer Day, Tuesday 5 December 2006.
Many guests took advantage of the free tram ride offered from the city to the King's Park (see below).
Representatives from organisations present received personally signed Minister's Certificates of Recognition on behalf of 2200 volunteer recipients.

Volunteers were able to view the spectacular Vista of Vs display, and to locate the Red Volunteering V bearing their name.
