City of Cockburn Very Important Volunteer Card

Cockburn volunteers are to be rewarded with their very own 'Very Important Volunteer' Card. This exciting new program has evolved through the Cockburn Community Development Strategy and is an initiative of the Membership Task Force, a sub-group of the Regional Community Development Group, and supported by the Cockburn Volunteer Resource Centre.  It is designed to be a reward for existing members to stay involved in community activities, and an incentive for potential members and volunteers to join up, or volunteer with community organisations.

The annually renewable Card will entitle the holder to discounts on products and services from participating businesses in the local area. Members of participating organisations in the Regional Community Development Group and volunteer agencies in the Cockburn area will pay $5, or the standard membership fee of their relevant community/residents association to be issued a card.

The program will only be open to businesses in the Cockburn boundaries, thereby working towards a sustainable community where residents are encouraged to shop local. Local businesses will be supporting the individuals who voluntarily contribute to the Cockburn community and in turn the community will support local business.

Over 50 businesses have been recruited to the program. If you would like more information contact Kellie Bennett on 9411 3490.
