In 2005 the Office for Womens’ Policy (OWP) supported the visit to WA of Ms Carmen Paquette, a representative of the Office of the Status of Women, Canada.
Ms Paquette is responsible for designing and delivering Gender Equality Training for policy analysts in government agencies both in Canada and internationally.
Project managers, planners and service providers benefited from Carmen Paquette’s experiences. She presented a range of tools and demonstrated how they can be used to plan the cost effective and equitable delivery of policies, programs or services.
During the week Carmen spoke at the following events:
-
The Ethnic Communities Council of WA, Ethnic and Migrant Women’s Awards and IWD celebrations on 6 March.
-
A breakfast and half day seminar for government agencies, hosted by the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) WA division, in partnership with OWP, the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and the Equal Opportunity Commission on 8 March.
-
A state-wide teleconference for Indigenous women and representatives of organisations working with Indigenous women on 9 March.
-
A briefing session with the non-government sector on 11 March.
