Women's Advisory Network of Western Australia

WOMEN’S ADVISORY NETWORK OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA

The Women’s Advisory Network of Western Australia was established in March 2007 as a result of the 2005 Review of the Women’s Advisory Council. The Women’s Advisory Network provides ongoing advice to the State Government on policy decisions affecting women.

The Women’s Advisory Network supports the State Government’s community engagement approach to policy development. It offers opportunities for female representatives from different organisations to raise issues and consider policy from the perspective of their members and clients.

Members of the Women’s Advisory Network reflect the diversity of Western Australian women and are leaders in the non-government sector. Current members are: Mary Ann Bath (People with Disabilities); Irina Cattalini (WA Council of Social Services); Kate Davis (Association of Community Legal Centres); Roslyn Harley (UnionsWA); Angela Hartwig (Chair of WANWA, Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence); Margaret Ker (Council of Churches of WA); Shameema Kolia (Ethnic Communities Council of WA); Marcia Kuhne (Chamber of Commerce and Industry); Helen McNeair (Indigenous Women’s Congress); Sandra Norman (Gay and Lesbian Community Services of WA); Olga Ramasamy (The Australian Asian Association of WA); and Judith Parker AM (National Council of Women WA). The Office for Women’s Policy provides executive support and links to Government policies impacting on women through Mary Gurgone, Director, Office for Women’s Policy.
