Birthrites: Healing After Caesarean
Coffee mornings twice every month for women who have had a previous caesarean to talk about their experience with other women who have experienced the same. The objective of the group is to facilitate healing in women who need to debrief from their caesarean birth. Information and support is provided for women to make informed choices about subsequent births, including information on VBAC and planning an empowered repeat caesarean.

AICD Company Directors Course Scholarship for Women 2008
Department for Communities
As part of the WA Government's commitment to increasing the representation of women on Government boards and committees, 10 scholarships to undertake the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Company Directors Course are on offer. The Department for Communities is calling for suitable women in WA to nominate for one of ten scholarships to undertake the Company Directors Course.
To encourage nominees to include a diverse range of applicants, skills and experiences, the Department is extending an invitation to community groups. Any addition of this information to your newsletter or webpage is appreciated.

International Gynaecological Awareness Day: Film Fundraiser - A Walk to Beautiful
GAIN - Gynaecological Awareness Information Network / Hamlin Fistula Relief and Aid Fund
The story of five Ethiopian women. Poverty, child-marriage and lack of obstetric care can result in stillborn babies and fistulas causing incontinence and social alienation. Thousands of Ethiopian women are shunned due to this childbirth complication. In 1974 Australian couple Reginald and Catherine Hamlin, opened a hospital in Addis Ababa giving free treatment. Over 30 years later Dr Catherine Hamlin AC, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, continues their work. To celebrate International Gynaecological Awareness Day and raise funds for the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital, please support this screening of the award winning film ‘A Walk to Beautiful’.

Stay On Your Feet Week® is an Injury Control Council of WA event funded and supported by the Department of Health of WA that aims to reduced the incidence of falls in seniors aged 65 years and over, and promote healthy ageing in WA. A Tai Chi demonstration, free breakfast for seniors, and guided walks in Kings Park will kick off Stay On Your Feet® Week. 6th Annual Spring Walk

Come and join us on our annual 5km Spring Walk in aid of UNIFEM (The United Nations Development Fund for Women). With many women in the world having to walk 5km just to collect water, participating in the Spring Walk is a very positive way to show your support. Morning tea will be provided after the walk for a gold coin donation and please bring a few dollars for the raffle. All funds raised go directly to UNIFEM. For more information see attached flyer.
