Coffee Mornings
Birthrites: Healing After Caesarean
Coffee mornings twice every month for women who have had a previous caesarean to talk about their experience with other women who have experienced the same.   The objective of the group is to facilitate healing in women who need to debrief from their caesarean birth.   Information and support is provided for women to make informed choices about subsequent births,  including information on VBAC and planning an empowered repeat caesarean.

Business and Professional Women (BPW) Joondalup
Monthly Dinner Meeting
BPW is an international organisation that educates and informs women, undertaking research and projects aimed at making a positive difference for women. At a local level BPW offers great opportunities for developing social and professional networks for women of all ages. Every month we indulge in a lively few hours of eating, listening to an inspiring speaker and lots of chat (officially referred to as 'networking'). We welcome women of all ages to come along and join us. For recent arrivals in Perth it's a really easy way to meet a bunch of friendly, fun loving women.                      
Time: 6.30pm for 7pm start.

WA Family Pathways Network
You are invited to this presentation / discussion.  A panel of speakers will discuss their organisations' approaches to working with families where domestic and family violence is present.  Speakers include Kedy Kristal - CEO Pat Giles Refuge; Norma Williams - Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Midland Family Relationship Centre; David Monahan - Family Court of WA. Clare Burton Lecture 2008: Prof. Daniela Stehlik - 'Australian Women: still flourishing in a changing environment'

This year we are pleased to welcome Prof. Daniela Stehlik, Director, Alcoa Research Centre for Stronger Communities, Curtin University of Technology as the guest speaker. The Clare Burton Lecture is an annual event and honours the significant contribution made by the late Clare Burton to gender equity and organisational change in higher education and other areas. The lecture is proudly brought to you by Curtin University of Technology on behalf of the Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) with sponsorship provided by the Office for Women's Policy.  All proceeds from this event are donated to the Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Please see the attachment. As part of the WA Government's commitment to increasing the representation of women on Government boards and committees, 10 scholarships to undertake the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Company Directors Course are on offer.  The Department for Communities is calling for suitable women in WA to nominate for one of ten scholarships to undertake the Company Directors Course.

Nominees can be any woman who has lived in Victoria and made a significant contribution in a particular field, or made a lasting contribution that benefits the lives of other women and their communities in Victoria, Australia or internationally.
