Business and Professional Women (BPW) Joondalup
Monthly Dinner Meeting
BPW is an international organisation that educates and informs women, undertaking research and projects aimed at making a positive difference to women. At a local level BPW offers great opportunities for developing social and professional networks for women of all ages. Every month we indulge in a lively few hours of eating, listening to an inspiring speaker and lots of chat (officially referred to as 'networking'). We welcome women of all ages to come along and join us. For recent arrivals in Perth it's a really easy way to meet a bunch of friendly, fun loving women.
                      
Time: 6.30pm for 7.00pm start.
Venue: Joondalup Function Centre, City of Joondalup Buildings, Boas Ave, Joondalup (same level as library).

Cost: $28 for members, $30 for guests (2 course dinner and coffee).
Please note – all bookings for dinner must be paid for.

The Relationships, Sexuality and Disability Awareness Day
Since its inception in 1991, secca has accumulated a large number of resources in the form of written text books, video’s, DVD’s, flash cards, teacher programs, interactive worksheets, brochures and pamphlets, to name a few.  These resources are being continually upgraded and renewed.
We invite you to come along to our resource library open day to see first hand some of the tools and strategies that we use in our counselling sessions and workshops.

City of Nedlands Volunteer Referral Centre Network Meeting
A local network of community group coordinators of volunteers meets quarterly to share their successes and challenges of their trade.
New participants are welcome to come and gather information on new state and national developments in the volunteer sector.
Receive assistance in best practice volunteer management practices, find out about mini workshops and free training offered to NVRC members, hear from guest speakers and enjoy all the important sharing of tips and tricks over a cuppa and cake.

‘Becoming Independent’ Free Seminar
Project Five O is sponsoring a seminar aimed at empowering women who are living in threatening situations or are victims of abuse and who are seeking solutions to overcome their situation.
The Seminar will inform women of their rights, how they can leave, where to find shelter, how to secure funds, how to get legal assistance and how to motivate themselves to build up enough self-esteem so they do not feel it necessary to return to a damaging situation because they have learned it is possible to cope on their own. Speakers will include the Hon. Elizabeth Woods, Deputy Chief Magistrate, Dr Phil Watts, Forensic & Clinical Psychologist, Ms Diane Annear, Women’s Legal Referral Service 2005 and Ms Glynes Rynn, Southern Communities Advocacy Legal and Education Service. The Hon. Sue Ellery, Minister for Women’s Interests will open the seminar.
Reimbursement to attendees for child-care will be available. There will be a free shuttle bus from the Claremont Station.
Project Five O is the world-wide cooperation of the five largest and most influential women’s organizations, for whom the advancement of women is the core belief. Participating organizations are International Business and Professional Women, International Federation of University Women, International Council of Women, Soroptimist International and Zonta International.
Time: 9.30am to 2.00pm. A light lunch will be provided.
Venue: Claremont campus of The University of Western Australia in the Kurrajong Lecture Theatre, corner of Goldsworthy & Princess Roads.
