WOMEN'S COMMUNITY AWARDS

Recipients for the 2008 Women's Community Awards have now been announced.  More...

In 2007 the Department for Communities introduced the Women’s Community Awards to offer one-off grants for research or projects that focus on tangible benefits for women in Western Australia.

A grant of up to $5000 is made available for five individual women who want to work or research overseas, interstate or within WA and apply knowledge learned in their own communities.

Grants can be used for a wide range of research, projects or learning activities designed to benefit women in the community with a focus on priority areas for Western Australian women, identified by the Department for Communities.

Women aged 18 or over who have lived in Western Australia for at least the past two years are eligible to apply for the community awards.  Applicants need to show how their project or research will lead to improving the status of women through the community, in the workforce or at home.

Inquiries can be directed to the Department for Communities' Office for Women's Interests by emailing wis@communities.wa.gov.au, phone 08 6217 8230 or 1800 199 174 (regional).
