WOMEN'S GRANT AND FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
The Department for Communities proudly supports women's initiatives that help benefit women, strengthen their communities and create sustainable solutions for local issues affecting women.

A recipient of the WA Grants for Women, the Hedland Women’s Wellness Centre developed this quilt to represent the many women who have lived, worked and contributed to the settlement of the Pilbara community. Click here for larger image.
Annually, the Department is involved in supporting women of WA and our sector through a range of grants. The next series of grants will be due to go out after July, 2009, with our current grant projects quietly bubbling beneath the surface. These programs hold a wealth of innovative ideas and opportunities to share practices and research. So to keep informed of the achievements of this work, we will be making available small snapshots over the next few weeks through this website. Keep watching for more news.
OWP currently offers two annual sponsorship opportunities through:
WA Grants for Women Program which offers one-off funding grants of up to $15,000 to women's community groups with a project or initiative that supports and strengthens the emotional, physical, social and/or economic wellbeing of women - as well as increase participation in their community.
which is designed to offer one-off financial grants of up to $5000 each for research, projects or learning activities with a relevance to at least one of the WA government's five areas of priority for women being economic independence, gender equality, safety and justice, leadership and government, and community participation. This Award specifically targets individual women who work in either a voluntary or paid capacity in the non-government community sector, where funding opportunities for this purpose are not otherwise available.
