As an employee for the Department for Communities (DFC), you will enjoy a variety of benefits and flexible working conditions.

Salary and relevant awards

Salary payments are paid fortnightly and are transferred into your nominated bank account, building society or credit union account.

Salary packaging

DFC provides employees with the ability to salary package utilising one of the Department's service providers. You may wish to salary sacrifice the following:

  • Employee Superannuation voluntary contributions
  • Novated Lease Vehicles
  • Membership fees and subscriptions to professional associations
  • Financial counselling fees
  • Disability / income protection insurance premiums
  • Self education expenses relating to work
  • Mobile phones for predominantly business use (incidental private use)
  • Laptop, and notebook or similar portable computer (one per employee per year)
  • Contributions to private superannuation fund

Superannuation

New DFC employees will automatically become a non-contributory member of the West State Superannuation Scheme administered through the Government Employees Superannuation Board – www.gesb.wa.gov.au. The employer contribution is currently 9%.

We have a number of offices located throughout the Perth metropolitan area and in regional Western Australia. DFC offers a unique work experience in rural and remote locations. From the Kimberleys in the North to the Great Southern in the South. If you are after a lifestyle change – either a sea or tree view, we may have an office nearby for you.
