What to do before you go to a welfare centre:
- Secure your home and belongings (caravans, boats and trailers)
- Place valuables in a secure place
- Make arrangements for your pets.
What you should bring to an welfare centre:
- food and some water for 24 hours (there are no cooking facilities available during a power failure)
- spare clothing
- blankets and pillows
- toiletries and towel
- torch
- medications (Please advise staff if you have a serious medical condition)
- books, toys for your children
- consideration and concern for others.
Pack your gear in a waterproof container
What you cannot bring to a welfare centre:
- alcohol, drugs, cigarette smoke
- pets
- loud music and noise.
